Observations about London:

Here are some of the things I have noticed about life in London:

1-like everyone smokes. It's disgusting...I feel like I am always breathing in cigarette smoke. You would be surprised at how many people, young and old, smoke. EW.

2-trash cans are hard to find.

3-People don't really pay attention to the "Do not walk" signs....if they don't see a car very close, they will just run across the street....sometimes they run right in front of cars, too. And the drivers are fast and crazy....it's scary to watch! haha

4-if you are walking in a busy place (aka: anywhere), people do NOT move out of your way!

5-cashiers, and many people in general aren't as nice as in minnesota...I went to a cashier to pay for something, and she barely said hi, and when i said, "hi! How are you!?" she looked at me strangely, chuckled, looked at another cashier, and finally said, "well...i'm fine. how are you?" haha. and it's like that everywhere!

6-the streets/sidewalks are uneven. or maybe it's just me and Savannah...cuz we each trip like a million times a day!

7-they want you to MIND everything: mind the gap, mind the step, mind your head, mind the child, mind the door....it's hilarious.

8-the escalators are faster over here...and the little hand railing thing on the escalators moves faster than the escalator itself, so you put your hand on it, and next thing you know, your hand is like a mile away from your body. . . yeah. :P

9-guys over here aren't the proper, gentlemanly princes i was expecting...once, some guys were walking toward us, and they didn't move but instead made us walk into the street so they wouldn't walk into us...it makes me more thankful for my super-gentlemanly guy friends back home. :)

10-they are ahead of us in fashion...i could probably tell you what the styles in America will be in 6-12 months. or i could let you find out. ;) ps: i love the styles over here! amazing.

  2. Haha... I like Dad's comment. :)

By the way, I would just like to correct something and set the record straight.... SARAI is the one who trips like a million times a day. I have tripped probably four times our whole time being here... she not only trips about every 20 minutes, she's fallen on TWO flights of stairs now. It's quite amusing. :)
